Dans Eulogy- Written on behalf of the siblingsLooking back on our life with Dan, we can remember him as a happy child, always smiling. Some would say he had the most natural smile. Dan was the kind of person people were drawn to. He had many friends. I can remember a time when the phone never stopped ringing, and it was always for Dan. I used to wonder how so many people could be trying to get a hold of him. I think it was his loving personality that gained him many friends who love and care about him. His yearbooks were always full of signatures and “inside jokes” that I can never understand.
We have so many amazing memories of Dan growing up. In his childhood Dan was athletic, he exceeded at soccer, and shined in track and field. But along side his sports, the four of us would play Uno together countless times laughing and smiling. It was one of our favorite games. As kids almost every night we would get together to play not only Uno, but Wacky Blaster, Jenga, Night Bright, Guess who, and one of Dan’s favorites, Snakes and Latters. No matter how close we got, he’d ALWAYS win. But I’d say his absolute favorite was Pay Day. Even as an adult, I can remember playing a game with him. Chris remembers how the four of us used to watch art attack together. Once we even attempted to make a castle by our selves, but instead we came out with something edible.
Although the four of us played many games, Dan and Tim were drawn together like magnets. Wherever Dan was, sure enough Tim was close by. The two would do everything together, and share everything with each other. Dan even taught Tim how to skateboard, which they spent many years doing. His love of boarding was so strong that at one point he even wanted to become a Pro-Skater. Dan was a very talented guy, with a nack for computers and a love of art. Those who knew Dan know of his good nature, and how he avoided conflict. He’s the kind of person who never talked bad about anyone. Even when we fought, no matter what was said, Dan never had a hurtful word in him. As our older brother, he tried his best to be protective. Dan only wanted the best for us. We’ll always remember him as a kind-hearted person, who had an immense love of animals.
Dan, you’ll always be our big brother. Even though you’re gone from us, you’ll never leave our hearts and prayers. You will be greatly missed; we will never forget you, nor the time we shared.
We love you.
